My Spiritual Journey

October 16, 2017

My Dad was a Deacon in the church my family attended when I was a kid. We were there every week. It was a small-town, protestant, Southern Baptist Church.

In this little church, and at home, I learned that there are a few basic facts about the universe. 1) There is a God. 2) It isn’t me.

I became a follower of Christ at the age of 10, and maintained a connection with the church throughout my growing up years including during my university days.

I’ve experienced times of lagging in my faith as have most people I know. I honestly believe that everything in my life up to this point has prepared me for ministry. I’ve almost completed my ministerial training that will lead to a license. I’m not perfect, far from it in fact; but it’s not from successes that we grow, but our failures.
